The goal of the project “A microchip for each animal shelter animal” is to reduce the number of unwanted and abandoned pets in Estonia. With the help of microchips we can return runaway animals quickly to their home or bring charges against careless animal owners. Microchips reduce the time for which animals stay in a shelter. A microchip capsule the size of a rice grain is placed under the animal’s skin and it poses no threat to the animal’s health.
