Since January our Virumaa shelter administrers a pet cemetery in Kullaru village near Rakvere. The cemetery resembles that of human cementery: there are burial places that are well taken care of, plates ordered from funeral bureaus which have the names of dogs and cats, years and even pictures of pets on them.

Dogs, cats and other small animals that have passed away can be buried in the cemetary.

The funeral service including a plate and burying into an individual burial place costs 48 Euros. The pet can also be buried into a collective burial place together with the animals of the shelter (burying a dog costs 15 Euros and burying a cat is 10 Euros). If the pet dies and the owner wants to bury it in the cemetary then it has to be negotiated with the shelter and the pet has to be taken to the shelter or a car for transporting has to be organized. Each km costs 50 cents. If wanted, information about making a chest can be arranged by the shelter.
